What to bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes – Valletta's historic streets are paved with limestone and include some gentle hills and steps, so comfortable footwear is highly recommended.

  • Hat and water (especially in summer) – Malta enjoys long, sunny days, and temperatures can become very warm. We recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen and a bottle of water to stay comfortable throughout the tour.

  • A warm jacket (during winter) – While Malta's winters are generally mild, Valletta can feel chilly due to strong coastal winds, particularly between November and March. A light or medium weight jacket is recommended.

    Many of our guests arrive by cruise ship. The meeting point is around a 15-minute walk from the cruise terminal (or just a few minutes using the Barrakka Lift), making it an excellent shore excursion.

    The tour is easy to moderate.

    Valletta is generally flat, although there are a few gentle inclines and cobbled streets. We walk at a relaxed pace with regular stops for explanations and photographs.

    Although Valletta is generally easy to explore on foot, the city features some gentle slopes, steps, and uneven limestone paving, so we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

  • What happens if I arrive late?

    We kindly ask all guests to arrive 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start time. The tour begins promptly to respect all participants and the guide's schedule.

    If you think you may be running late, please contact us as soon as possible. While we'll do our best to assist, we cannot guarantee that you'll be able to join the tour once it has started, as the guide will already be leading the group through Valletta. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds or reschedule bookings for late arrivals.

Great Way to See Valletta

Valletta's role in European history really comes through on this tour, with guide Matthew walking the group through the city's key buildings, streets and monuments in clear, well-explained detail. The best 3 hour walking tour of my lifetime

Great overview of the city and main sights

This tour lived up to its strong reputation, offering a leisurely three-hour walk through Valletta's main sights for around £20. The guide kept up a steady, informative commentary and answered questions throughout, and although Valletta is hilly, the route stayed mostly flat with plenty of stops, including a 20-minute break in the park overlooking the harbour. Some sights, like the cathedral, are best saved for a return visit afterwards rather than covered in depth on the tour itself, but overall it's a solid way to get an outline of the city's history and find your bearings for further exploring.

Great walking tour with excellent guide

A great-value tour led by Michael, who kept things informative and interactive, happy to expand on details when asked while still keeping to time. The route includes a well-placed 20-minute break in the Upper Barrakka Gardens, timed just before the 1600 gun salute. It's a fair amount of walking over the three hours, but the pace stays slow and steady with plenty of chances to pause, sit, and take photos. A solid way to get well beyond the surface of Valletta.
