The tour covers approximately 2–3 km at a relaxed pace with frequent stops.

Mdina's streets are mostly level but feature cobblestones, while Rabat includes some gentle slopes.

    Yes.

Many cruise guests choose this tour. Since Mdina is inland, you'll first need transport from Valletta Cruise Port, which can easily be arranged by taxi, bus or private transfer.

  • Why is Mdina called the Silent City?

Mdina is known as the Silent City because very few people live within its ancient walls, and traffic is heavily restricted. Its peaceful streets and beautifully preserved medieval atmosphere make it one of Malta's most unique destinations.

    • A light jacket during cooler months

  • Are the catacombs difficult to visit?

The underground sites involve stairs and some narrow passages. They are suitable for most visitors but may not be ideal for anyone with limited mobility or severe claustrophobia.

  • Is the tour accessible?

Due to cobbled streets, steps and underground attractions, this tour is not fully wheelchair accessible.

Please contact us before booking if you have mobility concerns.

  • What happens if it rains?

The tour operates in most weather conditions.

Please dress appropriately for the forecast. In the event of severe weather, we'll contact guests with any updates.

Our licensed guides reveal the fascinating stories, legends and history behind Mdina and Rabat while taking you to hidden corners you might otherwise miss. You'll also gain a deeper understanding of Malta's Roman, medieval and wartime heritage through the included underground sites.

  • What happens if I arrive late?

Please arrive 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

If you're running late, contact us as soon as possible. While we'll do our best to assist, we cannot guarantee that you'll be able to join the group once the tour has started, and refunds cannot be offered for late arrivals.

  • Is Mdina worth visiting?

Absolutely. Mdina is one of Malta's top attractions and a UNESCO Tentative World Heritage Site. With its medieval streets, stunning viewpoints, noble palaces and centuries of history, it's considered one of the island's most beautiful places to visit.
